It has been a crazy week... to say the least. I guess it all started last Wednesday when, as my mom was coming down through Kansas City to bring us the Colt (car), Nancy gave birth to precious little Augustine (Gus) two weeks early. So... instead of sending my mom packing on a plane back to MN, the kids and I decided to take advantage of a reason to get to see family and all jumped in the car to see the little guy.
Therese was so precious with him... if you haven't seen pictures on my mom's blog... do.
And, as Providence would have it, Therese' Godfather and David's Godparents already had plans together that night... which we joined! It was really great... we hung out until past bed time and then jumped in the car to go to Marshall.
Then some Saturday, I planned to go through our things in the basement, quickly picking out a few things... and then head back to Missouri early on Sunday morning. God had different plans, however. I started spotting/bleeding Saturday morning (oh... FYI - we are now 7 weeks pregnant), and was in for an untrasound that night instead of getting to Mass. Amazingly, the ultrasound was perfectly perfect! I even got a picture of the little one.
After some hunting, I located some injectible projesterone in Marshall, and started my shots by Sunday afternoon. The bleeding continued and increased greatly, but the absence of cramping remains a hopeful sign that I may not have miscarried. The docs cancelled my plans to travel back to Missouri until some answers are found, so the kids and I enjoyed the week here on the farm... awaiting a second ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) at 9am.
David had an encounter with something sharp (still a mystery to Mom) and looks really tough now.
And this picture shows you the wicked little insects that made my beautiful daughter look like she got mugged! Gnats attacked her entire body, especially her eyes, and left their swollen mark all over.
As a way to enjoy the cousin time, I decided to dig out the huge tent Joe and I have never used, which we got for our wedding. The kids especially enjoy the "doggy den" in it!
Therese and David went along with grandpa today to do a few rounds in the tractor as he dug prior to planting soybeans. I sent the camera along with Therese, but she didn't do her usual overdose of pictures. This was the most scenic of her photo shoot!
So... we are surviving, but are yearning both for answers and for Daddy/Husband. Patience!
Your prayers for our little one are greatly appreciated.
