The Best and Worst of our First 18 Hours with Family

It is hard to believe, but the ENTIRE Lanoue family actually came to visit!

It was awesome!

Here is the best and worst of our first 18 hours:

The First Beach Trip 2020!

The rain finally cleared up and they opened the beach!

We only went for a brief visit, but Summer Cove will definitely 

be a big part of our summer again this year.

We have learned from the Lanoues to pack a cutting board, watermelon, and knife.

Perfect!

It was a gorgeous day!

Spring in Washington and Hernia Boy #2!

You know it is spring in Washington when...

You spy chickadee eggs in a tree!

Can you spy momma?

It is also spring in Washington when a birthday party is rained out...

And the birthday boy was days away from PCSing, so the only place to 

escape the rain drops and moving boxes is in a basement storage area!

Oh...and we officially have a 2nd Librandi hernia boy!

Yup! Hector actually is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning. 

Poor guy! His obviously causes him much more pain and discomfort than David's did.

We had a blast in the ER, though!

T's Last Two Weeks' Projects

I'm not kidding when I say that T always has a couple projects going.

I am also not kidding when I say that she completes each and every project she begins.

Here are some of the projects that she finished over the last two weeks.

She bordered all of the front landscaping with rocks from the woods.

She also brought in loads and loads of used mulch that someone else had 

discarded in the woods...reusing it in to beautify our beds.

She brought in her first bounty from the gardens.

She designed and cross stitched this for a dear family friend.

She was super excited to receive a request for door signs for her littlest cousins.

She shed tears over a certain littlest brother tearing out her one and only flower bloom 

thus far in the back gardens.

She even made this lovely wreath for our front door!

She truly is a wonder!

The Inaugural Librandi Game

This last Sunday we kind of accidentally started a fun new thing around here.

We inaugurated the first ever in-home Librandi Games!

So...there we were sitting.

We had been to Mass on the Vigil (praise God!).

We had listened to Bishop Baron's homily.

What to do next....?

Out of nowhere, our idea kid, Thérèse, suggests a baking contest.

And dad actually goes for it!

So...what do we do?

We choose the required ingredient: apples, of course!

Then, we gather the cooks.

We set a 30 minute timer, and they began!

They all finished in record time with very various presentations and tastes!

David's "Apple Surprise" (an apple stuffed with sprinkles and candy)

T's "Sugar Fountain" (I believe you can see all of the goodness that she piled on her Granny Smiths)

Joe's "Snickerdoodle" to be served atop random coconut ice cream we had in the freezer

He admits that his was probably a bit too "intellectual" for the judges.

We then brought in the judges, one by one.

And...T won by a landslide!

Now we have to get ourselves a sweet trophy to be passed 

around whenever we have a new in-home Librandi Game challenge.
