A Girl and Her Ninjas

It is funny how little kids get so focused on certain toys for days/weeks at a time.
EV is currently very "stuck" on these colorful ninjas.
She has them doing adventures all over the house.
Wherever we go, there are ninjas to step on and pick up.
Oh, joy!

Honestly, Thérèse and I hid them this morning.
Hopefully it takes a few days for her to find them again.
Maybe by then she will have moved on to a new love.
God willing...

The Blessing of Bulk Pick-Up

You know that you are a true second-hand girl
when the thrift shops say your mattresses are too old to donate!
Well, praise the Lord that there is bulk pick-up annually!

First some neighbors relieved us of a few items.
Then the county took everything except the tire.
EV was very concerned seeing a crib mattress out there.
She thought that her bed was going away.

Anybody need a tire? It happens to be just a bit heavy.
At one point there were two men from refuse out there
just shaking their heads at it and taking pictures.

Thanksgiving 2018 in Turner

We spent another Christmas at the Hodsden's, and it was a wonderful family time.
There was wonderful food, lots of relaxing, fun games, and good conversation.

We even did some Black Friday browsing for fun!

Oh, and this also happened.

Yet Another Addition to the Home Gym

Here is Joe's new toy.
Last Saturday's workout was learning how to push a 70lb sled.

A Day of Strays

Last week we had a day of strays.
We returned two cute dogs to their owners after finding them "unmanned".
This one actually stuck around for several hours while we searched for his owner.
The kids even named him: King Roger the Second!

A Chilly Fall Camping Trip

We took advantage of a long weekend and went to camp/hike in the Olympic peninsula.
We weren't quite prepared for the cold, so we cut it a night shorter than planned.
However, it was a grand time!

A Snuggle Interrupted

It was a simple sleepy nap with Romeo.
Then we were invaded.

Romeo was not pleased.

A Mysterious Carcass in the Woods

The kids, with their cohorts, found some mysterious remains while playing out back.
Henry was specifically very interested and excited.
What do you think it is?

Evangeline Turns Two!

November 1st is a double-celebration for us here.
It is both All Saints Day and EV's birthday!
She turned two this year!

Thérèse made her a birthday dress, and it was super cute.

T and D also used Cold Stone Creamery gift cards they had won in a coloring contest for EV.
They bought ice cream cupcakes for us all.
They were delicious!

Happy birthday, Girlie!

All Saints Day Costumes

We spent much more time prepping our costumes for All Saints Day this year.
Thérèse was our amazing and determined seamstress.
She sewed costumes for everyone except Patrick, who reused last year's outfit.

And...here are our little Saints!
Saint Agnes

Pope Saint JPII

Saint Patrick

Saint Lawrence

Saint Clare
Seriously, this habit she made is amazing!
And all she had was a brown flannel sheet and a picture of Saint Clare.
