Sorry I posted this for a day without any comments to tell you what is going on. I have a moment now to fill you in.
We are all doing very well. At this very moment we are in the final preparation stage for a big and quick trip up to MN... but things haven't been this crazy all the time.
Here the kids and dad are enjoying a weekend evening with some Legos, some music, and one crazy DANCING STAR! And yes... these moves are all original - David Joseph copyright 2011.
Dance break - overseeing his sister's creation: a "doll house"! (It was the dolls' bed time.)
Two weekends ago we had a really fun time with Joe's class. We went to the Missouri Veteran's Home about 30 minutes away. It was the small town's festival day, so we got to partake of a car show and a parade! And due to the kids being the only young ones at the beginning of the parade route (where all the nursing home residents were) - we came home with a HUGE shoe box overflowing with candy. I guess that means we will have to make an effort to go give it away at the local nursing home before we leave for Texas!
And the best part of the day was that the workers at the home connected us with this wonderful gentleman, Mr. Lee Mueller. Instead of going from door to door and resident to resident, which the kids were used to, we just stuck with Lee and were his family for the day. It was great! Lee was SO SWEET, and the kids loved him (and I think vice versa - he did ask to adopt them at one point!). Thanks, Lee, for the wonderful day!
That same weekend was a wonderful weekend in a second way. We were blessed to spend two great evenings in a row with a wonderful family here on post. One night we spent at our humble abode, and the next at their's. The time was greatly enjoyed by adults and kids in common... great fun and conversation. Here are the kids at their place enjoying a nice sunset at Fort Leonard Wood.
While at play time at a friends' house, Therese, who was fully clothed the last time I saw her, came down looking like this! Her entire explanation was: "Mom, I took off all my clothes."
Random picture in which David obviously doesn't want to be in the picture, but I guess it is nice for you to once in awhile actually see my face... so here you go!
The kids are really enjoying their sidewalk chalk... Therese was writing a novel (the pink etchings) in these pictures.
And David was busy eating rocks once he tired of coloring.
Ewww, Mom, Rocks are Gross!
The proud novelist herself.
And the rock eater.
And here are some tell-tale signs that a bit of Preschool was taking place amid the coloring:
Therese' signature (the large T in blue)
And... the tell-tale signs of having a fun time while side-walk chalking: really dirty kid khakis!
Therese got a beautiful St. Therese medal in the mail from her Great-aunt (another woman named after the Little Flower)... an accompanying note relayed that the necklace originally belonged to Therese' great-grandmother Alida (David's Mother). Wow!
And, to close this installment... some playdough fun at the kitchen table yesterday. Therese was making onion soup! David was just making a mess.
Love, Us.
