20121115 - Tribute to My Mom

I know that many people greatly appreciated the time and energy that my mother put into keeping everyone up to date concerning Patrick over this past month. We always give her a hard time that her right hand is a camera. In fact, her family nick-name is "The Mamarazzi"! Despite all this grief, however, I want her to know that I really appreciated all that she did for me and my family during this difficult time. She came all the way down here, sat around with me anxiously for weeks waiting for Patrick to come, sat with me (and then by herself) through the extreme anxiety of his birth, and then became my point of contact to all of my friends and family (even those she did not know) throughout his hospitalization. Thank you, Mom!

I thought that I would give her a tribute in a similar manner to how she blessed us. I've shuffled through my pictures of this past month, and have looked for the needles in the haystack - the pictures that showed the beautiful woman behind the camera... Mom. I love you. Thank you.

20121114 - Some Patrick Pictures Since the NICU

I've heard that some of the people who were praying for our family, and particularly Patrick, over this past month are wanting to see how our little guy is doing. Simply put, he is doing great! We are watching him very closely as a result of his history, and even with that heightened sense of observance, he seems to be doing perfectly! He has found his voice, but doesn't use it too much. He is a great eater, and as a result is starting to put on some good chunk. His siblings still think he is the best. He has had many public appearances. He still hates his medicine with all that he has. And, to top it off, he is currently battling his first cold without much fuss.

I don't take pictures like my mother, but here is a quick pictorial run-down of Patrick since coming home to us. Enjoy!

20121031 - A Robin Hood All Hallow's Eve

I promised my mother I would post these ASAP, so here they are! It was easy to choose what David was going to be for the occasion - he is Robin Hood day in and day out here. And since Therese wanted to be some sort of princess, Maid Marian was an easy fit. We were thinking that Patrick would be Little John, but Little John is (as we all know) not little, so we just settled for a little Merry Man. I think we pulled it off fairly decently considering we just found some scrap fabric in the storage and a feather from the yard.  Enjoy!

Patrick is suffering from a clogged tear duct, so he has some gunk and swelling from the constant wiping - but he still made a pretty great Merry Man! He slept for all of the trick or treating (first picture), just waking up when we returned in time to get his icky medicine.
