For Today: The First Time I Held Him

Well, for all of you FaceBookers out there, you have already seen this picture. However, if I am ever going to get back into getting a daily picture or two on here, I needed to start easy today. In order to get any more recent picture to share, I would have had to wade through my mother's pictures... and that would have taken an hour too long! So, for today... my first snuggle with precious little Romeo while he was hanging out in the NICU. He is such a beautiful and easy baby! (And thanks to the wonderful nurse who took this for me!)

For Today: Prepping for Another Upcoming Adventure

Romeo isn't the only adventure that is quickly approaching. Stayed tuned on Facebook for pictures of that adventure tomorrow (God-willing)! Meanwhile, here are a couple pictures of the big kids keeping Joe company yesterday as he finished an 18 mile ruck in preparation for the adventure that he will embark on in less than 20 days!

For Today: Patrick is Ready for a REAL Little Brother!

Patrick has really enjoyed playing gently with our baby dolls recently. Soon enough, Buddy! Soon enough...

For Today: Homemade Water Colors/Finger Paints

The kids have created a new form of art media on our back patio. They call if water coloring, but I think it has just as much in common with finger paints. Basically, it all began when they were out coloring with sidewalk chalk on a hot day with water bottles nearby. Soon enough, a piece of chalk was dipped in the H2O and they never turned back! They have found that combining chalks with water is both very fun, and a way to quickly finish off those chalks that, otherwise, take so long to use up. They have created quite the artwork out there, and they have layered it so much that even the significant downpour (yay!) this morning wasn't able to clean it off! It has its downsides too, of course. I now constantly have chalk footprints all throughout the house from when they walk over it and come inside! Oh well... a small sacrifice for the sake of art and creativity.

For Today: Too Good to Wait For!

So, a few days ago I had two bags of Verly sweet corn sitting on the counter waiting to be heated for supper. I was getting other things done around the house before supper. While I was away from the scene of the crime, my boys found them. The temptation was obviously too great...

For Today: And There Were Still Three...

Well, it is a bit of a long and complicated story. But, the result of it all is that Romeo is still content inside of me for awhile. We now have to rethink our plans for the next weeks, but that will all get done and figured out. Also, most importantly, Romeo will be more prepared for the outside world!

So... we've still "just" got these three munchkins. Here they are a few days ago doing one of their favorite things as of late... creating a maze with all possible chairs in the house. They think it is THE BEST!

For Today: So... Where is the Baby?

There is one big problem with a scheduled c-section date. Most things are made simpler by it, but when you have kiddos big enough to understand that they will be receiving a very special gift in the form of a brother on a very specific date, they aren't vey willing to compromise once the said day arrives. Well, a certain little (hopefully not too little!) boy is supposed to have a birthday today. Unfortunately, by 6am his birthday has already been postponed once, but hopefully only by a few hours, because his siblings won't take tomorrow for an answer. If that happens, I might be dealing with a coup here in the Librandi household! The revolt has started even now...

For Today: Haircuts for Romeo!

The boys were in desperate need of a trim...

And that is what dad started out doing, but it was just taking too long! So, he went for the much simpler head shave!

Therefore, if the tradition of hairy-headed babies continues, Romeo will be the hairiest boy come tomorrow!

And look...David has side-of-the-chin dimples! I've never noticed that before!

For Today: Best Disguise Ever!

The kids and their friends are REALLY in to playing "spies" when they all get together. The other day at a birthday party, I "spied" this character over in the corner trying to get some intel on the boys... guess who! Seriously, if it wasn't for the bit of pink shorts peaking through, I just don't know if I would have thought this was T! We should really get that wig and glasses!

For Today: Patrick after Tomato Soup

You never have to guess what Patrick had for supper... he leaves the evidence all over himself and every nearby surface!

For Today: Sprinklers!

Our park visit didn't end at the jungle gym that day... the grass was being watered. And, since it was bath night anyway, I decided that the kids could be watered as well!

T held herself back from becoming quite as drenched as the boys.

For Today: Some Park Pics

We don't get to the park as much as I'd like, but having it just around the corning is quite a blessing. I greatly appreciate being able to get their on our own two feet. A few days ago we actually had some time to spare before supper (I LOVE crock pots!), so we headed on over. Here are some pics of the fun times... even T got a picture of me getting some needed conversation with family in!

For Today: Hanging Out With Tiger

We've come to realize that we must be one of the only yards in our area that is without a dog or competing cats, because strays and runaway cats seem to always end up here. Last week we had what we believed to be a runaway orange striped male in our yard. The kids named him Tiger and got really excited whenever he came to visit. Unfortuntately (or fortunately, if it meant he went back home), he disappeared as soon as we left him a pork chop to munch on. Instead, I guess we fed our millions of Texas ants - oh joy!
