Easter: Day 6!

Happy Easter!  Well... our morning yesterday (after Mass) consisted in Therese having a photo shoot and all of us cleaning the house.

 In the midst of this great exciting morning, we got a couple calls form dad with two bits of GREAT news!  First... we could go to the Social!  Yay!  Second, Daddy could leave post and move home at noon!  Double Yay!  So... we quick cleaned a few last things, threw the kids in the car, and we were off to post.  We basically drove him home, quick made lunch while he changed, and then drove him to the location of the social, which he had to be at 2 hours early.  The kids and I then went back home for a nap (which didn't take place - they were too excited).  We met and picked up OC Frank's wife on the way to the Social, and then finally got to the "party"!

The kids were SUPER pumped... even before they got frosting with a little bit of cake in their system, so they were the life of the party!  They even had some great dance music so show their moves to towards the end.  Therese went all around the room asking people to "play with her" and she had many takers.  We had great fun!   

 These are blurry, because I couldn't figure out the lighting and my camera, but this is Therese and one of her playmates dancing around the room.

 The occasion took place at "The Ironworks" in Columbus.  The venue was very nice. 

 When we got home, Dad took the kids to the swings and playground while mom cooked a quick supper before bed time.  

In imitation of Therese:  "It is the whole family now... How nice!"

Easter: Day 5!

Well, when I came to download my pictures this evening, I realized that there weren't many of them, which means I will actually have to use my brain to remember what we did!  

Well, after reading some things in a book called God and Children, which I highly recommend, by the way, I kicked my butt out of bed this morning, and actually was up and showered before our easter egg hunt, which hadn't happened yet over Easter.  However, even with that accomplishment, we still dashed in to Mass, arriving during the Psalm today. 

We went to post after Mass and I used my Power of Attorney for the first time in order to get some forms that we need in order to sign up for housing in Missouri.  The other office we needed to visit was, of course, not open, so we just went to the Commissary to get a few staples, stopped by the PX to look for some dress shoes (no luck) and then got back to Church for 10am Bible Study.  Therese did great today with the day care group, and it was a great discussion... probably that last one I'll get to, because Joe graduates next Thursday.  I will probably be attempting to get the kids to nap in the morning before-hand.

On the way home before lunch, we tried out Goodwill for the shoes, but also left there empty-handed.

When we returned home, Therese called me over from making lunch to get this "family picture" of her and her baby dolls.

 The kids took a SUPER long nap, and I actually had to wake them up in order to get to the main office before it closed, in order to pick up my replacement phone, that had arrived earlier in the afternoon.  We continued on from the office and enjoyed some pond time.    

 Bath time was extra long due to the last nights being sort of crazy and late... baths have been missed, and Therese's hair was starting to be a bit of a disaster.  They are all nice and squeaky clean now!

Oh... I got the new phone, as I mentioned, but trying to activate it failed this evening, so I'm still on the old phone until I can find a land line to call from and try to activate it that way.  So... if you try to call or if I call you, I HOPE that I can hear you... it is really hit and miss right now.

Daddy Update:

Joe's Company is (from what I understand) hosting an awards ceremony for people who are being inducted into the OCS "Hall of Fame" - or something like that.  Joe has been chosen to announce the evening's events, so he is currently having a very late, but hopefully not too stressful, evening!  

Tomorrow afternoon/evening is their Company's Social, but Joe has heard through the grapevine that children are not welcome, so we won't be going.  Sigh!  Hopefully the kids and I are having so much fun at that time that I don't even think about it!  (Or better yet, hopefully Joe hears differently AND my phone works when he calls to tell me that we can come!)

Easter: Day 4!

Today was full-to-the-brim with "stuff"!  Thankfully, the kids got up early enough to have their easter "egg" (they forgot to leave out the plastic eggs last night, so mom hid their bowls, instead) hunt and breakfast before 7:30 Mass.

 The last bowl had a big gum ball in it, which they split, and here are the results... full cheeks and big chomps! 

 After Mass we headed to post and got directions to the auto shop there.  We turned over our keys for the Camry to get it's oil changed, tires rotated, and hitch removed before it's trip to Missouri.  Due to a low number of mechanics being available, the kids and I had 2 hours to spend walking around.  We first went to the post office and signed up for having our mail held during our transition time, and then we just meandered, ending up at a couple new (to us) parks!

*Just as a note... I LOVE the "sunset" setting on my camera!  You can tell the difference here between the first and second picture of David.  Whenever I am outside and it isn't direct sun (it was overcast mostly today) this setting is awesome!  Sorry... random comment!*

 

 On our way back to the mechanic, once the car was done, we found this ridiculously cool tree!  I loved it, partially because I just finished the chapter in the Lord of the Rings all about Treebeard and the Ents of Fangorn forest.  I just couldn't resist taking a couple pictures of the tree and my little hobbits! 

 

 Once we got the car back (and at a great price, I might add!) we did a couple more errands on base and headed home to lunch, which included the last of our home-made applesauce!  It was bitter sweet, because we are trying to finish everything we have, so that we don't have so much to pack for Missouri, but the kids sure will miss their applesauce!  I'm sure we'll get some installments while we are in Missouri, though.  Hint Hint! 

 We headed out after naps for a run on the lawn, including horsey rides for Aana!

 My phone was starting to fail me, however, and it officially died (well, at least my audio did - if you call, you can hear me, but I can't hear anything).  So... the kids and I packed up quick and headed to Verizon.  I should have a working phone by tomorrow evening.

This brought us home after bed time, and we hadn't eaten yet, but the kids were great, and Therese even got some pics of David cleaning the dining room table for me after the meal!
