20120123 - Kitchenaid Mixer, Family Hike, and Physical Therapy

We had an exciting week around here. Patrick was finally evaluated for physical therapy, which was eye-opening and good. Long story short, he "measured" perfectly in his social development, but only at 1 and 1/2 months physically and mentally. They aren't too concerned about this, and are hopeful that he can soon be right on target with the help of some physical therapy (his mental delay is seen in his left side being "behind" his right side - hopefully both his physical and mental delays will be aided by physical work). Other than that, it was a pretty fun week, because dad had a 4-day weekend due to the MLK Jr. holiday. We took advantage of it with some good movies and a family hike in McKelligan Canyon on Monday. Oh... and with some chocolate chip cookies!

It was a family occasion making the cookies - our first with my new KitchenAid Mixer, a Christmas gift from Joe! It was GREAT FUN!

It was a perfect day for a walk on Monday - in the 50's and beautiful. Today it was in the 70's! Summer is on it's way to El Paso! I just noticed that Joe didn't include his second son when snapping this pic... he was there and seemed to enjoy it as much as the rest of us, just FYI.

And here is a quick picture that Thérèse snapped of Patrick this morning. This was his first "PT session" in the Bumbo. His neck gets tired pretty fast, but his siblings love playing with him in it!

20120116 - The Minnesotans in TX

I definitely don't take pictures like my mom, because when I sat down to write you a little update today, I always rely on my pictures to tell the story. Other than some pictures I did of minor cleaning projects I conquered yesterday, I have a total of 1 picture! It is a pretty cute one, though, and I took it just for you folks up north to enjoy! I'm pretty sure that in the last week David has only worn his snazzy dress outfit and his "baseball outfit", besides his PJs. To tell you the truth, I don't even remember where I picked up this jersey, but it is sure getting it's worth out of it... even in a family that doesn't watch sports at all, except crossfit videos on line! So... here you go! We love and miss you!

20130109 - Snowman and Patrick at 3 months

OK... so SOME of you (who will remain nameless) have been badgering me about getting pictures up of our El Paso "snow storm" as well as some new ones of Patrick and our Christmas. Well, I only have a moment, so here you go!

A few of our trip to MN:

The Lanoue and Bandzuch families got to meet Patrick.

The kids got their first snow fix at Grandma Ann's.

We had a wonderful time with our Godson, Michael!

And Patrick got to meet his godparents!

David got to give his godparents a hug and some laughs as well!

And Therese got her "Big Patrick" play time in!

Oma and Opah got a hug from all three grands!

And then we returned for David's (aka Batman's) birthday!

It was also a certain cowboy's birthday!

For Christmas Thérèse got a sewing kit, which she has been begging for for a LONG time. I, admittedly, didn't think she would be able to do it yet, but I was WRONG! She is actually embroidering a picture she drew all by herself. It is very exciting!

Our Christmas tree. Sorry for the poor quality pic.

And David finally fit in this snazzy outfit I got a long time ago for him. He was so excited to wear the "high tie" that he wore it whenever we would allow him to.

And this picture was taken for Oma and Opah - does it remind you of a picture of a certain son of yours?

OK... what you have all been waiting for: the snow storm!

First, the kids trying to catch some of the flakes on their tongues before they melted upon impact on the ground.

The "Snowman". Yes... it was a total of about 6 inches tall, but it did have both a carrot nose and prune eyes at one point!

The snow fight!

The outcome of the snow fight!

And as a conclusion,
HAPPY 3 MONTH BIRTHDAY, PATRICK!
