But, we DO have to prepare for the possibility, so we started Friday morning with a haircut for David, which was greatly needed. And what better place to do that then on the potty? (PS - Therese took these first 2!)
I was very glad to find out that his hair either got much thicker since his last hair cut, or the little bit of sun screen still left in it made it so that the clippers could actually sense it and cut well! Last time I had to cut it all by hand, and this was a LOT easier! And he sat SO NICELY for me! What a good boy!
All ready for Daddy!
Then we all pitched in and got the apartment all nice and sparkling clean for Daddy. Therese was my cleanliness inspector when we were done. Here she is - being very serious about her job...
And her verdict: A "THUMBS" UP! (she is still working on that one)
The rest of our Friday consisted of trying to pretend that we weren't waiting by the phone for Joe to call with the verdict. But... failing miserably to convince ourselves that were weren't getting our hopes up.
The call finally came a little after 6, and since it came so late, I was guessing the answer. They were given a pass (on-post) - but it wouldn't start until Saturday morning. So... I explained to the kids that we'd see Daddy in the morning, which they were eventually excited about after the let-down, and we had a normal night in our sparkling clean apartment!
