So... early October brought a TON of praying mantises to our yard here in Washington.
I admit that Mantis being a character in Kung Fu Panda had a bit to do with our excitement.
However, even apart from that, these mantises were very cool!
And, as I said, they were all over, so we really were able to study them up close.
Then, just when we thought we had studied them thoroughly,
we came across these two on our back fence.
Look closely.
Do you know what "special relationship" the females and males have?
Unfortunately, the men always seem to lose their heads.
Ha! That was a pun.
