We have had our Halloween get-ups in the works for months before the big day. It all started when I began reading the Narnian chronicles to the kiddos back in early summer. As you may know, there is a scene in book one where King Peter kills a wolf. From the moment when I read that story, David knew he would be King Peter. Gentle, but brave, Queen Lucy was a perfect fit for Thérèse. And, to top off the trio, Trumpkin the Dwarf (the DLF from book two) "fit" Patrick perfectly as well! So, with just a little digging in the costume box for T, D putting on his normal everyday garb (plus a homemade crown), and P grabbing his everyday weaponry and being a gem - putting up with a wig hanging around his neck as a beard, we were complete!
I didn't get any actual trick-or-treating pictures. These are from our trip to the library yesterday afternoon. The boys' costumes were a little more put-together for the real thing, but these give you the basic idea.
It was very blustery during the actual evening events, so we kept thinking that we were going to be swept away to Narnia! All those bad guys in Narnia better watch out for Trumpkin - he is primed for the battle!
Happy All Saints Day!
Love, Us.
