Mid-July: Michigan!

We (the kids and I) took a crazy, last-minute, flight to Michigan for a week to join all the cousins and the aunts and uncles and grandma at the cabin!  The way there was a bit stressful, but full of blessings.  And the week was very relaxing, refreshing, and enjoyed by all!

Oh, wow!  Therese LOVES Gus!

And between mom and I, there were constant art projects available to the kids!

OK... I kind of over-did these pictures, but David was so cute and loved the beach so much I just couldn't resist!

Therese also loved the beach, but also partook of the water quite a lot.

David Lawrence's birthday was on Saturday, so the girls made the party favors - bejeweled necklaces!

The Ice Cream Mustache - always a sure sign of fun at the cabin!

David was grandma's little shadow all week, even on her fossil hunting expeditions!

And he took great care of the grounds as well!

David actually borrowed the camera while the ladies were watching a bit of TV in the lower apartment.  He got some good shots (Please note that he took many, many more.  There were just the good ones.)

More making of "juice" and "soup" at the beach!

And David got 2 kites for his birthday!

Water colors on the beach:  in the words of my mother - "You just can't beat this!"

David's birthday ended with some fireworks on the beach - and a snuggle between yours truly and Gussy boy!

Our last day at the beach!

David spots grandma approaching...

He races to meet her...

Big hug!

Ok, grandma.  I'll go see the water if you hold my hand.

Oohhh... that does feel kind of good!

Me and my beautiful daughter!

Me and my beautiful goddaughter!

All week Therese was just a bundle of hugs and kisses to all!

Grandma and her 6!

The final beach shots for 2011...

Mom picked up a pretty Mary at the thrift shop, and David talked, kissed and snuggled her for a chunk of our ride back to the airport.

They were great travelers all around...

They even took a good nap in O'Hare, allowing for a sane 2nd flight and some time for mom to cross-stitch!
Deo Gratias!

It is crazy that we are nearing the end of July - our time in Missouri is getting near to 1/2 way done already!
