20120513 - 20120527 Misc. and Opah in El Paso

To start this installment... a picture of our sweet T taken by her little bro.

And next: a quick lesson in how to pick out a soldier from the crowd.
Step 1: Look for a lack of hair in general.
Step 2: Look for the tan (or, in this case, since he refuses to wear sun screen - burn) line from his cover!
Voila! Soldier spotted!

This particular morning, the kids decided that it just wasn't enough fun to get all the fish out of the electronic fishing game. There had to me MORE to it than that. So... they brought the little guys over to their playroom and cooked up some fish soup!

At first, the verdict is out whether or not it is an acceptable entree...

Oh yeah... it's good, mom!

A quick pic of T at her favorite "mushroom park". She has become quite the picture poser!

With the deployment on the unknown horizon, but sometime in the next few weeks, we were blessed to have some time with Joe's parents - each on separate occasions. Opah arrived first for a long weekend. He was quickly introduced to the most important details of our household: T's dolls and David's soldiering.

The two Davids getting reacquainted.

Opah was quite the sport with T and her babies. I don't think she has had a more amiable playmate.

And she loved every minute of it!

During this time we also had 2 count-downs going. We couldn't have one for the deployment, because that wasn't known. But, we were looking forward to Adam's wedding and our new home!

It was pretty hot and steamy while Opah was in town, but we did escape to the outdoors once in awhile - just keeping to the shade whenever possible. And you can bet Therese didn't let her babies stay inside all alone. Oh, No! She had Opah rocking and attending to them even in the scorching outdoors!

Yellow buddies!

We decided to cool off one day at the Splash park on post.

T was very proud of herself for climbing this rock all by herself while they dried off in the sun.

Not knowing when their wrestling days with dad would come to an end, the kids took advantage whenever possible!

But T never forgot her special Opah friend for long.

They even shared top-secret secrets between them. I'm sure this one was VERY imaginative and had something to do with baby dolls!

And... as a final gift to the kiddos, Opah taught them their very first card game before he left! Both kids actually did very well catching on to the basics of "War".

But, all good things must come to an end.

Bye, Opah! Thanks for coming!

Love, Us.
